Swedish is the foundation for all other therapeutic applications offered in my practice. Integrated Therapeutic Bodywork in the following modalities: Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue, or a combination. An area of the body is the focus for relief from chronic or acute pain, anxiety, stress held in the body, postural issues, trigger points, myofascial pain, or injury. Treatments can also enhance circulation, improve joint mobility and range of motion, facilitate emotional release, and promote general health and well-being. Swedish strokes seamlessly link the massage for a full-body experience. This massage is perfect for those who have specific areas that need attention, but also appreciate the benefits of having all of the body touched.

Deep Tissue

60 minutes - $80 / 90 minutes - $115 / 120 minutes - $150

Deep Tissue Massage focuses on working layers of muscle tissue and fascia. It is done in a very slow manner, as the muscle is worked layer by layer. By loosening adhesions bewteen layers of tissue, the muscles relax, lengthen and release. This type of bodywork helps to relieve stress or tension held in the body, leading to pain alleviation, improved posture, increased flexibility and deep relaxation. During this massage, expect to be in communication with the practitioner. Checking in with level of pressure allows for a safe and effective treatment. An area of focus is chosen for the session in order to spend enough time for desired results. A full body Deep Tissue massage cannot be performed in a 60-minute session.

Trigger Point Therapy

60 minutes - $80 / 90 minutes - $115 / 120 minutes - $150

If you are experiencing chronic pain, trigger point therapy is likely to bring you relief! So what is a Trigger Point? A trigger point is in its simplest terms a “knot”, or adhesion in the muscle fiber that can cause localized pain or a referral pattern of pain to a different area of the body. This is why working on a trigger point on one part of the body can relieve pain in a totally different muscle! Headaches, frozen shoulder, and myofascial pain are just a few examples of ailments that may be caused by trigger points. To deactivate a trigger point, the practitioner will typically hold direct pressure on the point for 30-90 seconds, until the quality of the tissue changes. This can usually be felt as a release in the muscle fiber and often leads to immediate pain relief. In more severe cases, or in cases where there are several trigger points in one area (a taut band of muscle), many applications of trigger point therapy may be necessary before full relief is felt. One can expect at least partial relief right away if trigger points are the cause of pain. Please note the length of time required to perform a therapeutic session of trigger point therapy does not allow time for a full body massage. Instead an area, or multiple areas of the body are chosen to work on.

Myofascial Release

60 minutes - $80 / 90 minutes - $115 / 120 minutes - $150

Myofascial Release is a technique used to release muscle adhesions in the fascia or fibrous connective tissue.  Restrictions cause shortening of the fascia. If fascia is stuck in one area in the body, it can lead to misalignment throughout. By freeing limitations in myofascial tissues, one can experience pain relief, improved posture, structural realignment, and emotional release. This massage is done with very little oil and in a slow manner, working with one layer of connective tissue at a time. Expect to be actively participating throughout the session by focusing breath and awareness on the tissue/area of the body that is being worked. Communication with the practitioner is also essential during this massage. A full body treatment is not available in a 60-minute massage.

Reiki – Usui System of Reiki Healing

By Donation, 30-60 minute session – “Pay what you can, Give what you feel.”

Reiki Energy Medicine is a safe and effective healing technique based on the belief that we all carry Life Force Energy. This Life Force Energy can be depleted causing vulnerability to stress and illness. Reiki is a system that allows the practitioner to access an unlimited supply of Universal Life Force Energy. The practitioner then serves as a conduit for the energy to flow through and then transfer to the recipient. By replenishing one’s Life Force Energy, greater well-being is enhanced in the form of relaxation, feelings of peace, and the promotion of recovery when illness is present in the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies.
